Automatic Ironing Machine is a device that iron a cloth automatically. A cloth is placed on top of the board and a heating rod is moved along to iron the cloth.
Objective
The objective of this group project is to design an automated ironing machine. The machine is to be able to iron a cloth automatically to remove wrinkle and without burning the cloth.
Methodology
SolidWorks is used in the designing process and Arduino IDE is used to code the motion of heating rod. The device consist of heating element, iron rod, actuator, power supply, Arduino microcontroller and wooden plate. The heating element is analyzed to be able to reach maximum temperature (200°C) in 2.6 minutes when 10W of power is supplied. The actuator is controlled by using Arduino and powered by 12V DC supply.
