This project aim to simplify and standardize the pneumatic diagram in engineering design paperwork. Although a international symbol known as "JIS" exist, the symbol is not understandable by all technician. On top of that, the symbol is not easy to draw in electronic paperwork. This causes many variation of simplified pneumatic diagram and standardization is needed for documentation of projects and future use.
Objective
The objective of this project is to standardize the simplified pneumatic diagram that is easily understood by everyone in the team. The diagram should also be drawn easily without consuming much time and do not require extra software.
Methodology
The new proposed standardized simplified symbol uses equation editor features that is available in Microsoft Office Word and Microsoft Office PowerPoint. Every component is described by using square bracket and the component type is written in the middle. The number of column in the bracket indicate the number of pneumatic valve. The tube that connect to each valve is indicated by the variable on top and bottom of each column.
